After an hour or so though we started to see the Rockies in the distance....
Soon we entered Banff National Park and then Banff itself, which is very pretty although a bit touristy.
After checking into our B&B we headed out for a wander round and a first proper look at the stunning scenery
By this time we were both starving so we ended our very long day with some proper Canadian fare. Elk burger for Jon, buffalo for me. The photo is especially for Mike.
It's now 3.30am in the UK so time for some rest...No doubt we'll be awake early tomorrow so we can fit in a walk to the bow River Falls before breakfast.
Food looks good, guess you will soon walk that off with your early morning walk!
ReplyDeleteWe walked to the Bow River Falls before breakfast, then climbed to the top of Tunnel Mountain before we headed off to the lake, so its all good so far!
DeleteThese are great pictures Rach and thanks for taking the time to post. Has John found what he was looking for in his shorts pockets? Or was he just doing a stock check?
ReplyDeleteLovely pics, glad you had a great journey.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the walk in the morning...and jon pic of the breakfast please x
I can actually see a head /face lying down... to the right of the mountain.
Ooh yes me too....spooky! X
DeleteHi there you intrepid pair! Great to be travelling along in your wake, thanks to the picture supported text. Jon are you sure that elk was elk? Looks a bit like horse to me. The Rickards is an inviting thirst quencher, whatever it is. The first of many I'd guess.
